HE Spring Challenge

Well, I believe its about time we had another challenge. So, I present to you the 2008 Spring Challenge! Details are listed below:

Theme: Mystery

Starts: Friday, February 15th
Ends: Friday, April 11th

Rules:

1. Must include canon characters only. No OC’s.

2. Max. Length is 10,000 words *That’s the equivalent of 5 long chapters. I believe it is plenty*

3. Must be original and newly written (Must be written after the challenge is announced.)

4. Must be PG-13 rated. No explicit violence, cussing, or romantic scenes.


**Entries will be voted on by admins Almighty, Confettie, and tkdgirlccs14.

--Also, here are just a few writing tips to keep in mind when writing!--

Short Story Writing Tips

1. The shorter the sweeter. Keep chapters under 2,000 words normally. No one likes to read never-ending chapters.

2. Stick to just a few characters, not an overload of them. Build a character’s image up through the storyline, especially in mystery.

3. Always hint at future events in the story in the introduction.

4. Don’t forget dialogue is an important aspect to keeping a reader interested!

5. End in an ambiguous style. Leave what happens to the reader’s imagination.
